Course Topics:
ï Review of concrete and reinforcing steel properties.
ï Limit state design.
ï Service limit state (SLS): Deflection control; Cracked and un-cracked section; Cracking control
ï Ultimate limit state (ULS): Design of cross section to bending moment
ï One-way solid slabs
ï Design of longitudinal reinforcement
ï Bond and anchorage
ï Shear reinforcement in concrete beams
ï Redistribution of moments
ï Design of Cross section to moments and axial load

 

Prerequisites:
014008 – Graphical Engineering Information 014108 – Structural Analysis
014505 – Building Materials

Student Evaluation:
Weight of midterm applies only when it is higher than that of the final exam
Submission of exercises may grant up to 5% bonus of the “basic” grade when the minimum grade of 55 in the final exam.
The final grade is subject to overall judgment of the teaching staff

 

 

Project:
The project is divided into 4 parts; Dates for submitting will be publish during the semester.
