Spring Semester in Guangdong, China

Description GTIIT’s semester study abroad program in engineering and science is designed to give international students not only a unique academic experience, but also a chance to get to experience China and Chinese culture. We offer a variety of academic courses in engineering and the sciences, which can be taken as part of a student’s engineering academic track. It is important to note that all the courses offered by GTIIT are taught completely in English.

Academic Program
Technion International courses are given at first-, second-, and third- year undergraduate levels, for students in their 1st, 3rd, or 4th semester. Areas of engineering include: basic Engineering and Science, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and related fields.

Our programs prepare students to excel in their future academic and professional careers. Students study in classes taught in English and live on Guangdong Technion’s modern campus while receiving Technion credits for their work. 

Extracurricular Activities Students are offered social activities and are given an opportunity to be introduced into Chinese culture.

International students have the option to live in on-campus housing. On our modern campus, each suite has two bedrooms to be shared by two students. All suites have a kitchen and a bathroom. There is 24-hour cold and hot water and campus internet. There are also air-conditioners, fans, washing machines, dryers, and microwaves in each suite. No linen or kitchenware is provided.

There is common room on each floor for the learning and social activity, and all common rooms are equipped with televisions and Chinese and English magazines and books.

There are banking services, full- equipped gymnasiums, and public bathrooms on the ground floor of the dormitories.

Student Life

There are many opportunities to participant in Student Government, a student club or organization, volunteer in a service project, attend a leadership program, etc. to discover new ideas, learn about different cultures and interests, develop skills, and contribute to the community in GTIIT.

There is also an opportunity for students to participate in community engagement activities to interact with the Guangdong community and truly experience Chinese culture.

GTIIT also offers a series of athletics & recreation activities. Participating in some form of physical activity helps maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and students are encouraged to choose at least one activity each semester.

There is a gymnasium, basketball court, badminton court,  and table tennis tables on campus. In addition, the students of   GTIIT can use the facilities of Shantou University nearby.

Orientation Day

GTIIT’s Orientation Day is designed to familiarize students with the campus and surrounding neighborhoods, and to provide a general guide to student life in Guangdong. You will be presented with guidance on all matters regarding the campus and student facilities, banking, and the dormitory.

Admission requirements for the Spring Semester program are a GPA of 80/3.0 and above.

Your application package must include the following documents:

·         A personal statement outlining why you want to study at GTIIT

·         Transcripts (original or official copies)

·         $60 USD non-refundable application fee (Erasmus+ students exempt)

·         Passport copy

·         Students from non-English speaking countries must either undergo a personal interview or submit their TOEFL/IELTS scores

Architecture students need to submit their applications by May 1 of the previous academic year for the year they wish to enroll, including a portfolio and an official letter from their home university with their class ranking.

English Proficiency

Since the academic program at GTIIT is taught entirely in English, applicants are required to demonstrate their English proficiency before their enrollment. Applicants from countries where English is not the primary language may be required to undergo an interview in English.

Admission decisions will be based on a close evaluation of each application on a case-by-case basis. An emphasis will be placed on the academic performance of each candidate.
