On August 5, 2016, the third cohort of civil engineers graduated from TI’s degree program in a ceremony attended by the Technion President, and other distinguished faculty, and family and friends who came from nearly all four corners of the world: China, Nepal, India, Russia, Sweden, France, Italy, Spain and the USA.
Technion President, Prof. Peretz Lavie, expressed gratitude to the parents, saying “You gave Technion a chance to develop our international programs.” He praised the graduating class for their hard work and courage for coming to a country whose language and culture they didn’t know, “Over the years you did a marvelous job integrating into life in Israel and studies at the Technion. You worked very well as a team (you came in first place in the 2014 Israeli National Concrete Canoe competition, for example) and have attained high personal achievements (tonight, four of you will graduate cum laude with distinction and 1 magna cum laude).”
Many of our graduates have already made plans for after graduation: a few will be heading to graduate school at Technion or leading universities in the US, others will be entering the workforce in their home countries and some of them have decided to make Aliyah.
Congratulations class of 2015!
