Spring Semester – Architecture


The Neubauer American Spring Semester in Engineering and Science  program is designed to prepare undergraduate students to excel in their future academic and professional careers.

The Study Abroad program is offered through Technion International and is taught in English. It offers challenging and intensive academic courses in a variety of engineering and science areas and can be taken as part of a student’s engineering academic track.

The Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning

The Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning has been part of Technion from the very beginning, and its graduates continue to play a key role in designing and building modern Israel. One of the most prominent faculty members from the first decades of the Faculty is former Dean Prof. Yohanan Ratner, who initiated the Wall and Tower idea and was later appointed Chief of General Staff in the newborn State and IDF’s Head of Planning Directorate.

The track in Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture is designed for senior undergraduate students from all over the world. The Study Abroad program is offered through Technion International and is taught in English. It offers challenging and intensive academic courses in a variety of engineering and science areas, and can be taken as part of a student’s academic track.

Academic Program

Courses are given at the second, third and fourth year undergraduate levels. Some include off-site activities as well as business and industry site visits. Areas of engineering include: basic engineering and science, civil and environmental engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and related fields. Additional academic courses are offered in entrepreneurship and innovation, business, history.

Extracurricular Activities Includes trips around Israel, working and studying with Israeli students, research experience, visiting start-up companies and meeting technology entrepreneurs.

International students may request on-campus housing on our vibrant Haifa campus in modern student dorms, which include modern six-person apartment units that consist of a shared kitchen and bathroom. Bedrooms are shared, equipped with 2 beds, 2 closets and 2 desks. No linen or kitchenware is provided. Dorm rooms are limited and must be arranged at least three months in advance through Technion International. On-Campus housing is not guaranteed but all students accepted to the program may apply. Student Life

International students will easily integrate to student life at Technion, which supports a multicultural student community. On campus you’ll have access to a wide range of sports facilities (including an Olympic sized pool), and participate in social and cultural programs, lectures and trips to enrich your study abroad experience. You’ll be invited to an orientation day, designed to get you acquainted with peers, student life and living essentials in Israel.

 Orientation Day

Technion International also provides a comprehensive Orientation day designed to familiarize students with the campus and surrounding neighborhoods, and to provide a general guide to student life in Israel. Orientation presents you with such “survival tips” as acquiring a student card, email account and internet access code, opening an Israeli bank account, getting a cell phone plan, and getting around the sprawling Technion campus and your dormitory.


Hebrew Ulpan (Optional)

The Hebrew language Ulpan lays the foundation for life in Israel, at the Technion. An extremely effective technique, Ulpan is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in an intensive language acquisition experience. Instruction is offered for beginner levels and takes place on campus. The Ulpan is given during the month of August each year.

Hebrew for Beginners

Come learn some conversational Hebrew. Technion International, together with the Department of Humanities & Arts, offers a beginner’s Hebrew language course for international visitors. The course is offered each semester and is open to students, postdocs, sabbatical visitors and spouses of visiting scientists. The course will provide knowledge of the Hebrew letters, vocabulary and basic language and grammar structures. Students will acquire elementary reading, writing and communication skills to use during their visit. The course will be taught during the semester.

Course Duration: 13 weeks (4 academic hours each week, taught in the afternoons)

Admission requirements for the Neubauer American Spring Semester in Engineering and Science program requires a GPA of 80/3.0 and above.

  • Transcripts (original or approved copies)
  • $ 60 (USD) non-refundable application fee
  • Students from non-English speaking countries must either undergo a personal interview or submit their TOFEL/IELTS scores


English Proficiency

Since the academic program at Technion International is taught entirely in English, applicants are required to demonstrate their English proficiency before their enrollment. Applicants from countries where English is not the primary language may be required to undergo an interview in English.
