International students may request on-campus housing on our vibrant Haifa campus in modern student dorms, which include modern six-person apartment units that consist of a shared kitchen and bathroom. Bedrooms are shared, equipped with 2 beds, 2 closets and 2 desks. No linen or kitchenware is provided. Dorm rooms are limited and must be arranged at least three months in advance through Technion International. On-Campus housing is not guaranteed but all students accepted to the program may apply. More information about housing can be found here.

Student Life

International students will easily integrate to student life at Technion, which supports a multicultural student community. On campus you’ll have access to a wide range of sports facilities (including an Olympic sized pool), and participate in social and cultural programs, lectures and trips to enrich your study abroad experience. You’ll be invited to an orientation day, designed to get you acquainted with peers, student life and living essentials in Israel.

Orientation Day

Technion International also provides a comprehensive Orientation day designed to familiarize students with the campus and surrounding neighborhoods, and to provide a general guide to student life in Israel. Orientation presents you with such “survival tips” as acquiring a student card, email account and internet access code, opening an Israeli bank account, getting a cell phone plan, and getting around the sprawling Technion campus and your dormitory.

Hebrew Ulpan (Optional)

The Hebrew language Ulpan lays the foundation for life in Israel, at the Technion. An extremely effective technique, Ulpan is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in an intensive language acquisition experience. Instruction is offered for beginner levels and takes place on campus. The Ulpan is given during the month of August each year.

Hebrew for Beginners

Come learn some conversational Hebrew. Technion International, together with the Department of Humanities & Arts, offers a beginner’s Hebrew language course for international visitors. The course is offered each semester and is open to students, postdocs, sabbatical visitors and spouses of visiting scientists. The course will provide knowledge of the Hebrew letters, vocabulary and basic language and grammar structures. Students will acquire elementary reading, writing and communication skills to use during their visit. The course will be taught during the semester.

Course Duration: 13 weeks (4 academic hours each week, taught in the afternoons)

Cost: NIS 1,100
