Field of Research
We invite applications for highly-motivated students to conduct research in the multi-disciplinary field of droplet-wall/film interactions. The proposed projects include experimental investigation of drop impact morphology and splashing characteristics of single- and/or multi-component droplets impinging onto engineered hydrophilic and hydrophobic surfaces, over a range of conditions. The duration of MSc project is (6 months) and the PhD project is 3.5 years (42 months). Hiring

Requirements and Skills:
• For PhD projects only: A master’s degree (or exceptionally a four-year bachelor’s
degree) in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• Pre-existing knowledge in fluid dynamics.
• Previous experience in measurement techniques is desirable, but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of numerical methods. Knowledge of any programming language and/or
commercial/open source computational multiphysics software are an advantage.
• Fluent in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative research environment, good
communication and organizational skills, and scientific initiative are paramount.
