Medical Insurance:
All participants coming from abroad must have full medical insurance for the program, including all organized activities (trips and visits).
THE TECHNION WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A PARTICIPANT BEFORE OR AFTER THE SUMMER PROGRAM, NOR FOR PARTICIPANTS WHO LEAVE THE GROUP OR ARE ABSENT FROM CAMPUS OR THE PROGRAM.
A basic health insurance policy will be provided to all participants coming from abroad. It will only cover them during the program (from its beginning to its end). You need to insure your journey to and from Israel.
If the participant has any medical conditions, allergies, etc, please inform us well before the program’s start.
Student Counsellors:
Throughout the program participants will be accompanied at all times by a team of student counselors who will be available to assist with any issue.
Travel:
Participants coming from abroad must have a valid passport and a visa for Israel. An Ignite staff member will be in the Arrivals Hall of the Ben-Gurion International Airport (located after customs) with an “Ignite” sign and will meet all arriving participants on July 7th.
Your departure flight should be on July 28th, preferably in the afternoon.
Please contact us by email if you have questions about the flight arrangements.
Participants arriving from destinations in Israel will meet with the group at the Technion on the afternoon of the 7thth of July. Further information will be provided prior to the program’s start.
If there are any problems upon arrival (i.e. lost luggage etc.), please notify Ignite staff immediately.
Dormitories:
Participants will be housed in the Technion dormitories (except during weekend trips). Please note that rooms are shared, with two participants per room. Bathrooms and showers are located outside the rooms and are shared facilities. Girls and boys will be accommodated in separate areas. Kindly note that the dormitories are very basic.
A welcome package including bedding and towels will be provided. The dormitories also offer shared cooking facilities for participants’ use.
Dormitory rooms must be kept neat and clean at all times. Weekly inspections of the rooms and shared bathrooms will be conducted, and all participants are expected to take responsibility for their share of cleaning.
Participants are responsible for maintaining the condition of their rooms and equipment and will be required to cover the cost of any damage caused.
Counselors will be available at all times and will be staying in dormitories near the participants.
Please note that the dormitories are strictly smoke-free and fire-free zones.

Curfew:
Curfew is at 22:00. No one is allowed out of their apartments after curfew. Technion students live and study in the dorms during the summer months so noise must be kept to a minimum.
Smoking, Alcohol, and Drugs:
No smoking of any kind is allowed in the rooms, public buildings, or during social activities and laboratory time.
No alcohol nor drugs are allowed at any time. Participants who fail to obey will be expelled.

Israel’s summers are hot and humid. Participants should be prepared, drink a lot of water and follow the instructions of mentors and Ignite staff. Please bring sunscreen.
Participants’ responsibilities:
Participants are required to listen to and follow the instructions of the counselors, mentors, and Ignite administrative staff at all times.
Participants must attend all meals and planned activities at the designated times.
Participants are required to carry their Ignite student participation document with them at all times.
Failure to comply with program rules will result in removal from the program. Ignite maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment.
