Q: What are the requirements for applying to the research program?
A:Applicants are accepted based on their academic merit. Applications should be submitted at least eight weeks in advance. The minimum GPA requirement is 80/100 or 3.0/4.0 or higher, and applicants should be at least third-year BSc students.
Q:Is there a tuition fee for participating in the research program?
A:There is no tuition fee for the program. However, there are various administrative fees such as registration fee ($60), processing fee ($100) and campus fees (NIS 656 per semester).
Q: How long does the program last?
A:Internships can last from two months to one year. If you are not a registered student, you may stay for three months only.
Q: Is it possible to participate in the program during the summer?
A:Yes, internships are available throughout the year, including the summer.
Q: Can visiting students stay in the Technion dorms, and what are the costs and availability?
A: Accommodation in the Technion dormitories is not guaranteed for all visiting students and is subject to availability. In the event that a place is allocated, the monthly fee is 1,250 NIS, in addition to a one-time refundable security deposit of 800 NIS.
Q: What research fields are available in the program?
A:You can conduct research in any of the fields available at Technion, on the condition that a Technion professor agrees to host you. You are welcome to search your field of interest on the Technion website or use the tab of Registration Process to view the various departments.
Q: How can I apply to the program?
A: To start the application process, you must register and complete the online application at Technion International’s registration page and attach the requested documents, including an official grade transcript, an up-to-date CV/Resume, a cover letter and a letter of recommendation from faculty member in your home university.
Q:Are there scholarships or additional financial support available?
A:Yes, there are scholarships such as the Ministry of Science Scholarship, the Melvin M. Goldberg Undergraduate Fellowship, the Azrieli Fellows Program and the Fulbright Scholarship – please see the relevant tab. Students may also check with their Technion host professor to see if research funds or other financial resources are available.
