The Mechanobiology of Cancer and Wounds Laboratory at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, developed and applies advanced biomedical engineering approaches to uncover mechanical basis of biological processes such as metastasis. We are developing patient-specific approaches and tools to predict the clinical likelihood for metastasis formation and to prevent wound formation and accelerate wound healing. The interdisciplinary research combines innovative, clinically relevant mechanobiology experiments with advanced image processing, computer modeling, and machine learning approaches.
