The properties of artificial materials can be designed to exhibit extraordinary properties by cleverly engineering their composition. The objective of this ERC project EXCEPTIONAL is to develop metamaterials that manipulate elastic waves, with potential applications such as vibration isolation, energy harvesting, cloaking and more.
