Research field:
The effect of natural and artificial shading on outdoor thermal comfort and pedestrian behavior. Students will be working on the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of diverse outdoor shading conditions to inform the development of more effective and efficient urban spatial shading strategies and devices. The work involves microclimatic measurements using high-end equipment and analysis of remote sensing data.
Required background:
Human geography/architectural design/industrial design/landscape architecture
and previous experience with data analysis preferably GIS.
